Team Sabado ABL Game 2 Season 3

me, my oversized ABL jersey and my undersized shorts (and skinny built)

Although the game ended in a dismal loss, I had a lot of fun seeing the guys and playing with them, after missing the first game of the season due to chicken pox. We actually lead the game during the first quarter, with a high of seven points, only to see it evaporate during the second period with a two-point performance from the whole team for the entire period. Everything was uphill from there, with the game ending in I think more than a 20 point lead by the opponent (dunno the name of the team).

Personally, I don't expect much from the team. During the past two seasons, we were virtually win-less. But the fact that we try to enjoy the games and do whatever we can to give our opponents a run for their money is something that makes me want to play every game. Improving our team work, communication inside the court and offensive mindset and strategy though are things we must improve on if we want to see a non-zero value in our win column in the standings.

With regards to my performance, aside from the fast break three point play during the first few minutes of the game and a few steals, my presence in the court had almost no impact for the team. I had one traveling violation and a lot of turnovers because of tight passes that were easily anticipated by our opponents who were very long and athletic. Offensively, I also attempted very few shots and got thirsty and tired easily (no drinking fountain in the area). As such, for the next game, these are my targets (I'll try to convince everyone in the team to have targets too):

1. Bring 1.5L Gatorade
2. Be aggressive offensively. Measure of success: four attempts within the shaded area
3. Move and make myself available. Measure of success: receive two assist passes from teammates
4. Encourage team mates to move the ball and make themselves available to receive passes. Measure of success: total of 7 assists for the whole team
5. Suggest a system in half-court offense wherein at least three players must touch the ball before any attempt is made
